Hey, sorry to slightly highjack this thread, but is it true that applications/games that don't run on fullscreen native pbook resolutions run on small windows? Does this affect e-uae as well? What about 320x200 68k apps?

    New Topic - Use it.

Without configured screenmodes, apps will run in "small windows". Many emulators (including e-uae) can use overlay for scaling, it blurs the image though.

For e-uae - create a 320x256 screenmode, you can use lower resolution but some games will be cut. For apps running directly on MorphOS: For the Powerbook with a 1280x854 screen - make a 320x214 mode. For 1440x900 and 1680x1050 screens - 320x200 mode. I have a 1280x854 screen but this should work with any Powerbook as the GPU scaling is used for the internal monitor.

Wasn't this fixed in MorphOS 3.4 and 3.5?

Yes, but you still need to configure other than native screenmodes. Before 3.4/3.5, you could only use native resolution on Powerbooks.

I see, thanks. So am I right in concluding that the issue described in the first posting is in no way specific to PowerBooks/iBooks? (If yes, then the PowerBook reference therein is what got me confused.)

Yes and no :). Other than not native resolutions might be added automatically via DDC. If your desired screenmode isn't listed in "MorphOS Preferences - Monitors", you have to add it by yourself.

On my Powerbooks, internal display is identified as a "Color LCD" and by default it gets 8, 15/16 and 24bit native screenmodes.
