Don't want to curse in church, but can anyone please give a quick response to whether it would still be possible to obtain Windows 10 for free some way?

For a period of time, it was possible to upgrade for free from, say, Windows 7 (even pirated serials). Is this still the case?

Yes, it is. I recently did update a system for a friend and it worked fine.

I just entered the win7 registry code on the m$ Website and got an iso, which asked for the key once again during installation.

Afterwards i had a fully legal win10 system.

It was a OEM Win 7 and you cannot use the m$ iso downloader, as it claims you should contact your hardware vendor. You need to use the update program site. Just google for it.

Update may work, but you will end up with a system coming with tons of trash, leftovers and applications which fail right away.

Even if it seems to work in the first place, I do not recommend this. In the end you will face a major problem and reinstall anyway. So why not do a clean install in the first place.

You can download Win10 ISO from - https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10ISO

I use it for a quite long time. Works w/o registering. The only downside is a randomly appearing watermark on desktop telling you to register ;).
