    Yo!

Just tried out the mess emulator, and it actually works pretty damn good for what it does. (Tried NES, Gameboy, Atari 2600) and work at full speed.

Just wondering if there was some kind of GUI for the emulator?

I had begun it, and almost finished, actually (it was builtin, like MAME). Only the part about cartridge selection had to be finished.
If i ever work on MAME/MESS again, i'll probably finish it.

I knew this is something that Fab could do single handedly! :-)

No rush. :) I just found the emulator to be pretty good. Fired up some Gameboy games and they all did good. Thanks for what you contribute!

Don't mean to dig up a half year old thread, but figured i'd check to see what are the chances of working on the GUI? :) Maybe I can send some pizzas/moneys your way to help motivate. :)

I didn't have time to work on mess at all, but it's not that much work to finish that gui, so who knows... :)

Take your time. I'm sure it will be great just as all your other software is! :)

Yeah I am finding myself with no patience to use command line in 2015 with anything except C= 8bit. I am defaulting to PC.

Understandable. Even before GUIs were common I preferred some form of menu system.

Even slow 8 bit systems can do that.

I'm not a MAME/MESS user, but for what you need the GUI with it? Do you have to tune the settings much for each game or something like that?

But if it's only about launching, what's wrong creating a new context menu entry for it? Then just right click the games and start that way.. you can have few different configs that way too. Like you can do with UAE, you can launch stuff in A500 or A1200 configs etc.

Just makes it convenient with a front end is all. :) Like the MAME emulator has it would be ideal. Not like there is a whole library of games I want to play, but enough I wouldn't want to keep making entries for. Though it is a pretty good idea to make an entry and when you choose/click it, the game immediately comes up. :)
