Any possibility of compiling WINE for MOS?

Not discussing willingness of anyone to do this but the 'can it be done' side of things.

I think it will be to hard because wine is Not an emulator.it s a wrapper. A jit optimized bochs with sound network and voodoo emulation is an easier possiblity

Wine was ported to OS X/PPC. But shared address space model used on Amiga probably makes it very difficult if not impossible.
    1 + 1 = 3 with very large values of 1

I'd say it's possible, but name even one PowerPC native windows program that would make it worthy :-)

(As such, wine isn't "X86 exclusive", only all even remotely interesting wndows programs are)

I use WINE in a very serious manner with Linux Mint 17.

One of the things Linux could not replace for me was dvd/bluray ripping so I run DVDFab with WINE.
I have now run DVDFab inside of Puppy Linux in BOCHS in MOS.
I think a WINE port would run it a lot better and faster.
Nothing further to say on the issue.

Even if it would compile, it couldn't be run because MorphOS lacks Unix API.

  • Vcrun installs Microsoft's Visual C++ runtime libraries--just like apt installing some dependencies for a program, but much less elegantly.
