AmigaOS and MorphOS sys partitions aren`t large, but one enigma which I had (and still have for X1000/SAM460ex) is how to create a shared data partition - since largest data files (mp3, divx, pics ...) could be stored there. And I do intend to use Linux for some productivity (since MacOS X is not avail on SAMs)

With Linux progressing on SAM460ex and widely avail for PPC Macs, this could be a nice solution for every MorphOS user, and I am exploring how to setup SAM460ex with Linux and MorphOS (and AmigaOS4 too if possible) once SAM460ex support is done.

Surely, for PPC Mac users shared data partition with MacOS X would be useful too.

I see Marek has done FAT (16? 32?), NTFS, HPFS drivers for MacOS X (great!), and I would like to know how well do they work and can one format partition from MorphOS?
http://home.elka.pw.edu.pl/~mszyprow/progs/ Are they part of OS?

    more recent NFTS driver

Also, I see he even done a SFS driver for Linux side :-) What is default MOS SYS: FS - SFS, IceFS, FFS? I see from installation manuals automatic install uses FFS and that use of SFS requires writing of it to RDB, but possible use.

Note: link on official MOS page for dual boot guide with MacOS X is dead. But nice manual exist as PDF.

Also, as I see Ice FS is unique to MorphOS and developed, is it worth of try for system partition? Does it has speed difference to FFS/SFS?

    Thanks,
    V.

    HPFS? Where?

    > for MacOS X (great!)

    No, they are for MorphOS.

    > can one format partition from MorphOS?

    Yes.

    > http://home.elka.pw.edu.pl/~mszyprow/progs/ Are they part of OS?

    Yes.

    > What is default MOS SYS: FS - SFS, IceFS, FFS?

    SFS.

    > I see from installation manuals automatic install uses FFS

Do you have a link to such manual that says so?

    > and that use of SFS requires writing of it to RDB

The SFS handler is contained in the MorphOS boot.img, so no need to install to RDB. Besides, SFS is also default MorphOS system partition filesystem on PPC Macs, which don't even have RDB.

    > link on official MOS page for dual boot guide with MacOS X is dead.

Indeed. It has been moved to http://library.morph.zone/Dual-boot_MorphOS_and_MacOS_X_on_a_Mac_Mini_G4

    > Ice FS [...]? Does it has speed difference to FFS/SFS?

Yes, french test of an older version:
