    Hi,

I have found a problem in MorphOS 3.6 and 3.7 (also 3.3) using default device Radeon version 52.21 of 22-06-2014 with ATI Radeon 9800 XT card (in PowerMac MDD G4@1420).
Using this version ot the device the windows, menus, movements are very slow in OS, It's unusable.

Changing the device and using version 52.21 of 19-01-2014 (taken from MorphOS 3.5) in MorphOS 3.7, everything works perfectly, no problems (in attachment a screenshot) https://www.dropbox.com/s/lz3bqyfpuwxig1i/problem_morphos.jpg?dl=0

I have tested bootstrap from ISOs and these are the results:

boot hd:2,boot37 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.7.iso (problems: all very slow)
boot hd:2,boot36 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.6.iso (problems: all very slow)
boot hd:2,boot35 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.5.iso (all right, no problem)
boot hd:2,boot34 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.4.iso (all right, no problem)
boot hd:2,boot33 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.3.iso (problems: all very slow)
boot hd:2,boot32 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.2.iso (all right, no problem)
boot hd:2,boot31 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.1.iso (all right, no problem)
boot hd:2,boot30 rd bi=DH2:morphos-3.0.iso (all right, no problem)
boot hd:2,boot27 rd bi=DH2:morphos-2.7.iso (all right, no problem)

    Hi there,

As both Frank and I have mentioned by email previously, we do not support reflashed Radeons. In other words, if your graphics card is not running its original firmware and it does not work with MorphOS, then tough luck.

Also, just to make it clear: The firmware you flashed your card with has severely downgraded it. The firmware was probably meant for a different chip, and that's why you're having problems with this card: Your chip gets initialised wrongly by the firmware. In particular, both the core clock and the memory clock have been downgraded to a level that's slightly above a standard Radeon 9800. The firmware might have further misconfigured the chip to perform slower than it should, but it's impossible to tell just from the screenshot.

    Hi Mark,

thanks for the reply; you could tell me a firmware that would be suitable for my card to be tested ?
The model is this one http://www.sapphiretech.com/presentation/product/?psn=000101&pid=9

Note this url about the flash url http://themacelite.wikidot.com/flasher-s-buying-guide-9800

I'm using at the moment this ROM 9800 Pro 256MB 134 ROM reduced (When flashed with the 9800 Pro ROM: The card can use all 256MB of RAM, and all ports will function correctly. The card's fan will run at full speed all the time, which is louder, and can be annoying.)
    http://campahunta.free.fr/Downloads/ROMs/9800Pro_256_retail_134_red.rom.zip

    thanks
    regards

The one that originally came with the card.

    //report

updated the firmware using this one "9800XT 118 ROM reduced" http://campahunta.free.fr/Downloads/ROMs/9800XT_OEM_reduced.rom.zip

Now 2d driver is ok in MorphOS 3.7.
Using new and old firmware, tinygl.library is not usable (always crash).
