Hello. I would love to post things to Social media directly from Ambient itself. I would be so happy if someone could make a .sbar thing that is Social orientated.

Is it possible to make an .sbar thing, where its possible to write a message on the top menubar of Ambient in MorphOS?

I hope its possible, and maybe a bounty for such tool would be nice?

    Have a nice day!

    Regards,
    Michal Bergseth

Apart from the technical difficulties a fb or twitter client may bring I somehow doubt a sbar would be the right way to do it.

An app that "blinks" in a sbar when a new message has been received might make some sense.

I assume the way MorphDelf envisions his idea is that there would be an SBar module which would show a drop down menu offering "Post to Twitter", "Post to Facebook" and / or "Post to Google+" options when it would be clicked. After selecting one of the options, the SBar module might simply trigger for a new window to be opened on top of whatever else is shown on your screen where you can enter whatever message you would like to share with your social network.

The obvious advantage is that the SBar module is always easy to access no matter how many windows you have open and how crowded your screens are. So, the idea here would be to add convenience and provide faster access to functionality that some people use frequently.

Yes. I saw this in latest Mavericks OSX in the Notification sidebar. Its quite handy. But if its hard to do as Kronos says, maybe a seperate app.

Would be a cool feature! I would support with 124,- euro if someone made a bounty of this. Maybe it makes more interest to do it?

I'm not really into social medias but I support that idea. Everything which get us 'closer' to the 21'st century is great, especially when using unique sbar system. If there would be interested developer I will be more than happy to take care of bounty - if needed.

I don't use Facebook, but I was looking it into Twitter a bit. Unfortunately, to make a Twitter .sbar, you have to make a full-fledged client basically, with all the required stuff like OAuth Login, registering your client at Twitter, implementing all the networking stuff, and so on. And then there comes the fun stuff too, like sending images, etc, which needs quite some GUI work.

There are some Twitter libraries out there to use tho', which greatly simplifies the work, but I wouldn't go for an .sbar, but rather a full-client, which in turn has some features accessible via an .sbar. Especially when it's a paid bounty. Only if I had time... :-)

When it comes to Facebook, you have to register your client as well and generally do the auth stuff via WWW, which currently poses quite a challenge.
