I have a Mac Mini 1.25 ghz with Radeon 9200. Whenever I reboot the computer or do some changes in MUI I get some gray stripes on some of my desktop icons (usually SYS: and sometimes also DH2:). And also, Polynet (the bar that comes with Pack Chrysalis) can't handle transparancy. I don't know if these problems are related, but I thought I should report it anyway.

Thats a known issue. It is some random memtrash.

Probably already gone with all the recent MorphOS 3.2 changes.

The good news are that it is harmless and not a hardware problem.

Sounds good! Does that include the transparancy problem?

Well, I don´t have any idea about polynet, but it sounds like it is using so called "fake transparency", which may cause trouble if implemented wrong as well as may be fooled by the user moving a window underneath.

Anyway, MorphOS 3.2 comes with a new panel system that supports real transparency.

Hmm. Does that mean old panels won't work anymore or what do you mean with new panel system?

The ambient panels from pre 3.2 will be upgraded with new features. You probably don´t see any difference, when using you old config.

Other thrid party panels will work as before.

Wanted to just point out that this problem is still there after updating to 3.2. Nothing important, but a little annoying.

    Can you try the following?

    Open Ambient preferences
    Select pictograms
and now check the mode cycle at the bottom half of the window.
What does it say? And does the effect vanishes if you change it to e.g. normal.

I can't say for sure yet, but it appears to have done the trick. I'll get back if the problem return. Thanks :)

'Icon display' is what geit means.
