The last version of MorphOS I had was 2.x on my Mac Mini. I thought I paid more than the current $101 3.1 is going for.

At any rate..next week I'm going to register MorphOS. Its just too good of a deal to pass up.

    Hi,

New price policy was made for 3.0 release.

Quoted from official morphos-team.net site :

"To celebrate the much anticipated release of MorphOS 3.0, we are furthermore offering special three-tier pricing. The prices for a keyfile are 111.11 EUR for one PowerBook G4 system, 79 EUR for one eMac, Mac mini G4, Pegasos I, Pegasos II or PowerMac G4, and 49 EUR for one EfikaPPC system."

"Older" models got a reduced price, while newly supported hardware gets full price.

If you want latest stuff, you have to pay more. That how the world turns. :)

And of course updates stay free of charge!

The MorphOS 2.x key works with MorphOS 3.x, btw.

There is no need to buy another key for MorphOS 3.x, if the machine is already registered.

I sold my Mac Mini to a individual and overwrote MorphOS with OSX (by request of the buyer).

EDIT: Nevermind....found the old email with my key attached.

Your old keyfile will not work on a different computer, as each MorphOS keyfile is tied to a specific MAC Ethernet device address (or something like that, which is too technical for my small brain).

If your MacMini had died, instead of being sold to someone else, you could have requested a new MorphOS keyfile for a different compatible computer, but I doubt very much that they will give you a replacement keyfile now, because the new owner of your MacMini could use your old keyfile to run the latest version of MorphOS, if they became interested in it.

Too bad you did not sell it to someone interested in running MorphOS3.1, who was willing to pay you a little extra for your old keyfile.

They didn't care for anything but OSX. No biggie. I'll register next week :-)

    It'll be inaccurate because I sold a Mini...1 MorphOS user gone...then I bought another G4...so its a wash. Lol

No, it won't. The graph is about amount of sold licenses, not about amount of users.

    Have not hit 2000 yet.
Makes you wonder how many registered users there are (not license keys) and how many unregistered users there are.

How about a separate line in that graph for unregistered users? Harder to maintain I guess, but it would make it interesting as well.

Not feasible to do I think. How to keep track when a unregistered user who's regarded in the graph later loses interest and doesn't use any MorphOS at all any more? How to make sure he's deleted from the graph? And how to make sure to include all unregistered users in the first place?

That is the problem. But if it could be done (maybe it can't) it would be interesting to see how many outside the paying group are at least testing the OS.
