Firmware is by it's very nature tightly bound to the hardware, in this
case the Pegasos II. The first version of the Peg2 firmware had some
bugs. The perhaps most important things in the update are bugfixes. In
v1.1 you don't have to reset directly after cold-boot to be able to
reach your IDE units, and you can switch CPU cards (between G3 and
G4). It also seems to be possible to boot from network, but I have not
researched this yet (but there are some new variables that you can
read or set through the printenv/setenv commands that CLEARLY suggests
this). Perhaps there are also other things that I have not noticed
much yet. But the "coldboot bug" *alone* definitely called for an
update!
