A few remarks...
I'm sad you don't like the new shortcut and appicon identifiers.
They are not 2-coloured, if you look with Zoom you will see they are carefully antialiased. Black and white was used for usability aspects, so they work no matter how your wallpaper/ desktop background looks like. They will stay in strong contrast if the wallpaper is bright or dark.
The old appicon identifier was just a dummy and had completly pointless visual symbolic (the old image symbolizes a Shell/CLI). Further it was far too big and covered too much of the icon. For the old shortcut arrow many complains were received how ugly it is.
Anyway.. this is not hardcoded/fixed, you simply can use your own images for them (don't know the filenames right now, but i'm sure Fab or kiero can tell you). I personally think the new images serve much better as defaults than the old stuff.
About NList stuff.. I removed it -after long discussion in the team- for different reasons.
First of all it's completly unmaintanable mess. The maintainers rather discuss how OS4 rules must apply to the other C=-AmigaOS-alike OSes than accepting simple patches which is highly time-consuming for no reason.
Further same maintainers make other applications (namely YAM) require always the latest *minor* version of the classes for no functional reason which should concern the users. Hence the applications would quickly fail to start on a vanilla MorphOS 2.1 system (again for no real reason).
The final reason is that I would see 3rd party developers make their new MorphOS applications not depend on some rather obscure and superflous 3rd party custom classes. A good application works on a plain 2.1 installation w/o requiring additional classes/ setup or installation procedure.
I didn't know Sputnik needs NList (started fine for me). That's something which needs to be fixed obviously. Time to force Marcik to do some work again.
