Hi everyone! Once again, it's friday here, so I thought I would take a moment to take suggestions and ideas for the upcoming pages and services on MorphZone.

First up: Language Pages
I fully intend to create a page module per language. The concept is to have a nice "start page" for users of a given language to see the latest topics in their language, a few good links to other sites and information in that language, and maybe some other kinds of stuff. Any ideas on how it should be laid out? How should we link to those pages? (a flagbar maybe?)


Next: Developers to Users
Yes, Yes, I know we have the MDC, but, as great as it is, the MDC doesn't cross the bridge between users and developers awfully well. With that said, we have a great set of tools right here on MZ that simply need to be tied together. We have a) user group permissions, b) private forums with file support, c) downloads with group permissions, d) bounties, e) a bug/feature/development tracker, and finally f) document publishing (again rights based).

By all means, these things should be tied together to support open and closed beta-testing. An author could conceivably come up with a project, begin work on it, upload alpha's and betas, use a private testing group, upload a public beta and open a project in the devtracker, get feedback, make changes, upload a release, and finish everything off right here. (while still referring to the MDC for developer-2-developer support).

So guys, what do I need to do to make this a reality instead of a bunch of individual and seperate tools?

Well, I think users are not equally interested in all ongiong projects. Different users will prefer different projects. That is why I think, there should be projects list page, easy accessible from the main MZ page. Then "last updated" feature will be useful, I mean on the project list page every project should have its own "last updated" timestamp. Every project link should bring up a project page with its own forum section, bugtracker section, files section etc.

Krashan: That's a good idea. In fact, for a given project, it would be easy for _anyone_ not just a coder or someone with modding abilities to post something in the forums about it, which could easily be cut-n-pasted to a real page somewhere...

How about including a tutorial how to port software to MorphOS, like porting or SDL porting to MorphOS. I think that everybody will try this.

Well, it is what I thought about. Of course layout can be improved a bit (or maybe it is just my IBrowse), also there should be a "files section" and "screenshots section". Also the list of projects should be easy accessible from the main page (another graphical button under the top banner?)

Seriously, I think I see where you're going with this. Good idea, I'll have to work on some things first (i.e., fix the image module....)

I'll probably forgoe the images for now since that part needs to be fixed/updated. I'll have to see about making a browsable "projects" page of sorts...
