I used to have one of the older versions years ago, but had to use new email for rego. MOS rego number does not carry over? (asking out of curiosity)

    Hi Bodie, long time! :-)

Registrations are per machine, not per user. Already registered HW (registered for MorphOS 2.0 or later, if it's older than that, then it precedes the registration system altogether) won't need a new registration, upgrade to 3.0 is free of charge for registered machines, simply use the unique keyfile coined for that particular computer. But if you are using a new, previously unregistered computer, you will need to register to get a keyfile made for that particular hardware.

At least that is how I understood things...

Hi tmhg, a long time indeed! Hope you've been well :-)

Ah, ok, I see. I had registered the peg 2 way back when, but for some reason I had to use a different email addy, but it would be easy for the system to oversee this. I'm more than happy having paid for the upgrade, do my bit for development etc. But I would have like the lower number if at all possible ;-)

Cheers, and see you around! :-)

    -edit-

I don't remember which version I had registered for, it was a long time ago, when I was much younger :-o

Were over 1500 users of MOS. Congrats to all the developers, Good show men!

    Matt

After I demo this to my mac (ex amiga) buddies, we will sell a few more...

Wait a minute, guys. 1450, 1448, 1446... The userbase is shrinking or what? :)

Could you give me your registration date as well? Otherwise I will have to guess it and the graph will not be accurate.

How do you figure we are over 1500 users, when the registrations are not even over 1500 yet?

Myself and most other members on this forum site figure that there are many users with multiple registration numbers, which would make the numbers of users significantly less than the number of registration numbers, not the other way around.

Do you have some documented info about users who are still on 1.4.x and have not moved to any MorphOS2.x, or now 3.0 version that you are including in the total number of MorphOS users that you can provide a link to such information?

The email address used for the registration process is irrelevant to the system. It's just for sending you the payment request and after that the keyfile for the machine once you paid.

    > I'm more than happy having paid for the upgrade

That's confusing. Either you already had your machine registered for MorphOS (registering started with 2.0 in June 2008), which means there wouldn't have been any need (or possibility even?) for you to pay for 3.0 for the same machine, OR you hadn't your machine registered for MorphOS, which means you upgraded from MorphOS 1.x. Or do you mean something else by "registering"?

    > I don't remember which version I had registered for, it was a long time ago

The registration process requiring payment started with 2.0, as takemehomegrandma said.

There are at least 18 of them (here, in Poland).

    Hi Andreas,

I spoke with my brother, he says he seems to remember it was pre2.0 that i bought the system and used it last (was inactive for ages); I can't remember that far back. In any case, I wasn't trying to make an issue or anything, just wish I had gone through the motions during 2.0 for a more early bird adopter thing (ie. I was just mucking around)

Ah I see, so the source for the confusion was indeed that when we were talking about registering, we meant paying and receiving a keyfile, whereas you meant something like getting the link for the free and full MorphOS 1.x download from Genesi or the dealer you got your Pegasos from. Thanks for clarifying, confusion resolved :-)

    No. 1456 here.

Second license, Powerbook this time. I am living in the somewhat naive hope that this will motivate whomever to put WiFi support on his agenda. I hate having a laptop attached to network cables.

According to the MorphOS Team, WiFi via WiFi card attached to PCMCIA/CardBus is not only on the agenda but also in the works. After all, it had already been shown last year:

    https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?forum=11&topic_id=6042&start=95

On the other hand, WiFi via the built-in AirPort Extreme may be on the agenda but such work has obviously not been started yet:

    https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?forum=11&topic_id=6042&start=110

    OK, graph updated.

    @amigadave:

No way we're gonna break the "1500 barrier" before end of this week. The trend is good, number of registrations grows faster than with Mini support, but not as skyrocketing as with 2.0 release.
