    Moving window is HW accelerated, but when you move window around it can reveal new or parts of windows and this can trigger refresh events on other programs. Depending on display settings (double and triple buffering, compositing) and/or program refresh strategy and available free video ram make difference.

    The GPU is used but the CPU has to do additional work.
