    We lost the DanLab Games for the same reason.

    Considering both of these happened quite a while ago (DanLabs was in 2005, wasn't it?), I have hard time believing all of them would depend on unreleased unstable / beta version of SDL, which wasn't guaranteed to have same API than now released 2.0...

    And as most games seem to be 3D anyway, can't see any big benefit of using even finished SDL 2.0.

    I think the biggest update in SDL 2.0 is that it can (finally!) properly accelerate SDL 2D graphics drawing calls with f.ex. OpenGL. Of course calls themselves must have changed significantly, so you simply can't just recompile any older project...
