What we really have to be patient for, is the reworking of the Radeon drivers to allow for multiple cards to be initiated.
And that may be awhile.
After all, this work is being done in the spare time of the developers.
And with the adoption of the Radeon HD cards, they already have a lot of work cut out for them.

Hey, I can be happy right where I am.
I have a 2.7 GHz G5 system, soon to be equipped with a Radeon X1950Pro video card and a nice sound card.
I can debug and finesse this system for some time to come.

Given what we could have in a couple years, its pretty damned amazing.

If I want a dual display system, I have multiple G4 systems I can combine together to make one.

The real choice will be, do I drag out the old 9000Pro (to reuse the ADP monitor I have sitting unused) or use something more modern in the AGP slot like a 9600 or 9800 (oh and did I mention that, while it taxes the psu, you can run an R400 in a G4)?
Then in a PCI slot, a Voodoo3 or a Rage128 (hmm, wonder if you could use both)?

Its fun having these many options.
And not having to spend a fortune exploring them (like the OS4 community does with their more limited selection). ;)

Edit - Oh, and I guess you all can ask Yasu if the Voodoo3 works in a G5.
My long suffering friend will be the recipient of that card.
I've just got to stop farting around and send it to him.
