Is there still an issue using Voodoo4 cards in Powermacs?
I assume that Voodoo3 cards still work OK.

Sorry guys, but I did not get a answer on this so i bumped it up.

Is there still an issue with color distortion when Voodoo4 or Voodoo5 video cards are used in a Powermac?

I'm guessing that you are asking this so you can set up more than one monitor, yes?

I have been using a Voodoo3 for some time.
I want more memory and 32 bit color.

It can be done with a PegII, so I might have to bite the bullet and look for one.

No one responding to this one?

I don't mind having to use a PegII to combine a Voodoo4 AGP card with a Radeon PCI card, but the price is about 10 times higher for a system that can't be expanded to processors as fast as I can get for the Pmac.

    Aw come on guys!

One of you has to have a Voodoo4 laying around that you can test for me!

And, btw, if I can't get that to work in a G4 Pmac, I'd like to find a PegII motherboard.

    Thanks Andreas,
I just sent him an email.
    God bless Google translate.
I'd rather learn German than ever attempt Polish.

I use a Voodoo3 PCI and a Radeon9000 in my PowerMac 933Mhz to get the Morphos dual screen feature enabled, which works very well.

The biggest issue with those old cards iy the low gfx memory. I have a 1024x768 screen connected to the secondary card and for e.g. chat or text editor it works very nice. Even using two instances of mplayer to play video using overlay on both screens works.

Yep, I use that combination myself.
Its the Voodoo4 I am worried about.
Frank has mentioned some color issues with 4 and 5 cards.

BTW - That PegII Andreas mentioned sold for only $500.
If anyone hears about something like that again, PM me, please.
