Why such tone in the reply?. I never implied in any moment that i wanted a certain model supported, only asked about the viability of future ports. If asking such is bothering the devs or people here, then something wrong is happening.
Bye.
The tone is from me, not any of the MorphOS Dev. Team, though one or two of them might have expressed similar thoughts on the topic. The reason for the tone is that there has been too much asking for support of more models from a few people here lately, instead of thanking the MorphOS Dev. Team for what they have accomplished so far to date. Another reason for not supporting more different models of computers is that with each new model that is added to the list of supported MorphOS computers, it adds more work for the small development team to do when a new version of MorphOS3.x is released, and many people think that there are already more than enough models supported now and that the Dev. Team's time would be better spent refining the OS, adding missing features, or writing/porting more software to MorphOS3.x, instead of spending any of that time to support yet one more model of PPC hardware when we already have 77 different computers that can run MorphOS3.2.
Sorry you did not like the tone of my reply, but my opinion is just as valid as yours, so I see no reason why I should refrain from expressing my thoughts on this topic. I also think that an answer has already been given by one or more of the MorphOS Dev. Team members regarding future ports to more hardware models, but perhaps you did not see that/those posts earlier.
I pushed very hard to get the port to the G5 PowerMac towers completed a couple of years ago, until I realized that what I wanted was not as important as the things that the MorphOS Dev. Team were trying to accomplish, so I stopped asking for the G5 port to happen. Instead, when ever the topic would come up in any thread, I would voice my desire to have G5 support again, then I would drop the topic again, until it was mentioned another time by someone else.
The MorphOS Dev. Team has made very wise choices regarding which hardware to support so far, so I trust them to continue to make the right choices in the future.
