Several Asian companies have recently flooded the market with R360 based video cards that are deceptive or deliberately mislead a potential customer as to the actual contents of the package contain.
I just received a card marked as a 256mb 9800XT....it didn't have an extra power connector and it was using relatively low speed tsop memory (rather then bga).
Well, it loads a Radeon 9800XT driver.
But it has a 325 MHz GPU with 200MHz memory(operated via a 128bit memory bus.
Needless to say, performance is terrible.
And this is not the only problem I've had lately.
I have three cards in stock right now that I consider useless.
Word of advice original ATI, Celectica, maybe Dell (but they use double width slot mounts that need modding).
Be careful my friends.
This is a lot like when the good bins of Rage128 chips started to empty. Lots of shit product got produced that dragged down the company and it products.
As R300 dies an ugly death, again I ask, how about R400 and R500 support?
