I am working out some installation issues at the moment, but in testing hard drives for possible use as boot drives, I have come across some of my old Amiga drives.

I know I have a bunch of old SCSI drives. Is SCSI supported in MorphOS? If so, does anyone have any recommendations on what which specific card to get?

I have a SCSI tower with 3 hard drives, a CD Rom, and a ZIP drive. I would love to be able to find out what was on them.

i have symbios 810 here and it works without serious problems (from time to time it throws errorlog to morhos debuglog during booting).
Morphos creates symbios.device in memory. I haven't tested drives but scanners work ok (i'm the author of http://library.morph.zone/Scanning_with_SCANdal)

http://www.morphos-team.net/hardware has a list of supported SCSI host adapters.

That is solved since that latest update. I have a Tekram DC-390u in mine and i recognized my external Zip without problems.

scsi cards work with powermacs since 3.0

I have used them, but since most of my drives are u320 I find the controllers a bottleneck.
So the SCSI drives are either sitting unused or they're in PCs.
And 10K rpm drives are noisy buggers.

As a scanner interface, I can understand SCSI.
But SATA is the way to go for hard drives.

True. And just for reference the relevant quote from the 3.0 release notes:

"Fixed Symbios SCSI cards support on PowerMacs."

Great! I obviously did not read the release notes for 3.0, or 3.1. In fact, I rarely read the release notes for any new version of MorphOS too closely, but I should.

Okay, this is all very helpful. Any recommendations on where to pick one up, these days?

Back in the day, I used to do a lot of my Amiga purchases on eBay. Still a good way to go, or are there better options?
