you can also try fixing you IP adress (i don't know how under MOS)
Right click on desktop to bring menu
Set eth0 to static IP address (radio button)
Enter IP address (depends on your network setup)
Enter subnet mask (255.255.255.0)
Enter gateway (IP address of your router).
Enter DNS addresses (eg 184.108.40.206 and 220.127.116.11 for Google's DNS servers).
