Right click on the screen depth gadget (right-top edge of screen), select Settings->Title, add %rb to the strings.

@Jacadcaps - thanks for the tip.

Do you know if MorphOS 3.0 currently provides the Batterylow notification for Magicbeacon?
I just can't seem to get it configured for the battery notifications at any threshold, and am not sure if I'm wasting my time trying with the current release. :)

    Thanks Pampers & JacadCaps.

    That's exactly what I needed :-)

Would still be good to get MagicBeacon configured though.

Copy it to SYS:Classes/Screenbar then right click on the screen depth gadget and hit 'Rescan'.

Grunch also provides a packet for the energy.sbar and takes care about the installation and runtime list update.

Thanks jacadcaps for the excellent Energy sbar.
This is a big help to trim the system for a longer battery time.

However the Drain/Charge Current diagram is increasing with the decreasing Voltage. Is it possible to get this in Wattage instead? You just do a small calculation, Voltage * Amperage = Wattage.
The way it is now can confuse the user, and he wonders why the Amperage increases with time.

Even with energy.sbar installed, I often accidentally knock out the power lead and don't notice until the computer shuts down.
Since I've been unable to configure MagicBeacon to notify me when the battery is low, I've written a script workaround which may be useful.

    BattButt

This checks the battery level every 5 minutes.
If it's <10%, it notifies the user.
When the battery is low it also checks if AC power is attached and warns the user.
Checks increase in frequency when battery is low (3 mins), even more when AC is not attached (90 secs).

It's easily reconfigured should you need to, and will work out the box. Just double-click the archive, and drag the contents onto your sys: partition.
To activate it after installation double-click the BattButt icon in WBStartup. (It will start automatically after rebooting.)

It will use Magicbeacon if installed, falling back to CON: output if MagicBeacon isn't installed.

Not the most elegant solution, but it works.

FYI, I tried using Grunch to install Jadacap's excellent battery level sbar indicator about a week ago and it could not complete the process. I can't remember if it was a download failure, but I think that was the problem. I had already downloaded the file, but could not figure out how to get Grunch to find and use my download, instead of trying to download it again itself, so I was forced into just installing it manually and then I was able to use Grunch to check it to see if it was the latest version.

Maybe you were aware of this problem already and have fixed it. If not, maybe check the Grunch database to see if it is pointing to the correct download location for this PowerBook battery utility.
