Just tried booting from the 2.7CD and MorphOS does indeed fail at an early state when the SATA card is installed.
Now remember that there IS a driver present, it's just not working correctly (it does work in Pegasos). My guess is that the driver just crashes badly when such HW is found in PMacs.
