    My Quicksilver will be faster in a few days!

    I really wanted a 1.8Ghz or 2.0Ghz, but my budget doesn't allow. I will take this 1.6Ghz upgrade for $100 shipped  :-D

    I'm sure I can mod it a bit to upgrade the cooling and overclock it a little 8-)

    Do you care to do some comparison testing against my recently upgraded Dual 1.25GHz G4 MDD, which is now running a Dual 1.42GHz G4 CPU card?

    I am curious to push my system and find out how fast it is compared to some of the third party Quicksilver accelerators. Also, I have two different heat sinks to test on it, so I need to push the system to produce some heat so I can measure the different effectiveness of the two heat sinks and find out if I need to spend the extra money to buy one of the copper heat sinks that were available on the 1.42GHz FW800 models of the G4 PowerMac.

    @Dave
    I can do that, no prob. When I get it just let me know what benchmarks you want. This eBay seller appears to be a slow shipper from looking at his feedback. I'll let you know when I get it.

    Isn't there already a topic with speedtests from MorphOS compatible machines somewhere in this forum ?

    You can easily overclock that cpu upgrade to 1.8Ghz. The stock cooling is usually overkill anyway so I doubt you'd need to upgrade it.
    I don't think I managed to get mine to function at anything above 1.8Ghz but I can't remember for certain. I keep it as a spare just in case my 2Ghz upgrade dies.

    That's good to know. If it overclocks to 1.8Ghz, I am a happy camper! So far I have..

    Power Mac G4 "Quicksilver 2002"
    1.6Ghz (Hopefully OC to 1.8Ghz), 1.5GB RAM, Radeon 8500
    MorphOS 2.7 (Registered)

    And the best part is only $335 total spent so far! :-D

    Major bummer!! This CPU never arrived. The seller claims the USPS lost the package and has fully refunded. I am still stuck with 800Mhz. I'm going to hold off and use 800Mhz for a while now that Christmas expenses have tapped me out :-(

    Oh, that's really a pity... I've got the same CPU card, and it's really great.
