Will this be one of the future supported GP cards ?

    I can buy this: 1x Power Mac G5 ATI Radeon 9650 Supports 30" Display 256MB (DVI/DVI) (8X AGP) for 25 euro locally.

Would I be able to use it when the new gfxdrivers are (maybe?) released with MorphOS 2.8 ?

And I believe I have to tape something to make it work in a G4 ?

I didn't think that it would physically fit into the G4 PowerMac, but you might be right. Do you know which pins you need to tape for use in the G4?

I have that card and could test it in my 1.25GHz Dual G4 MDD PowerMac.

I did find a guide wich pins to tape, so that's no problem.

But I also found some benchmarks for these cards in an Apple G5 ... and they weren't really great at all. Even a 9600 outperforms it and an 9800 is a lot faster. Reflashed 9800's can be found for a reasonable price on Ebay ... but is it the same chipset and is it going to be supported ?

About fitting and working ... I hope my Digital Audio isn't going to run hot with one of these or that the PSU can give enough power. I probably have to put it under stress with some game under macosx to discover that. Running Wolfenstein with my current setup on the Radeon 9000 pro for hours without problems but I don't know how demanding that is for 9000 ?

I'd say these would be 9500, 9600, 9700 and 9800, at least according to the site linked therein:

    https://morph.zone/news/1716.html

    As for the others:

    - 9550: AGP; cut-down 9600, don't know if flashable with 9600 ROM
    - 9650: AGP; Mac-only anyway
    - X300, X550, X600: PCIe; no Mac ROM
    - X1050: usually PCIe but there seem to exist also AGP variants; no Mac ROM; additional problem: https://morph.zone/modules/newbb_plus/viewtopic.php?forum=11&topic_id=7464&start=19

if it goes up to x850 the fastest possible flashable card would be a Sapphire X800 XT Platinum Edition i think :)

That would be R400 then. Drivers not only for R300 but R400 as well would be nice indeed.

I believe an X850 XT Platinum Edition is even faster. Or can't you flash such a PC card with a Mac ROM for X850 XT?

true, but there is no Mac X850 XT PE. only OEM and also the rom of that card available. the X800 XT PE should be faster than the OEM X850 XT :) also it should be possible to flash the Sapphire with an oc'ed OEM Mac X850 XT rom, bcz. of the same graphicchip of both cards.
