well, afair, mine (fw800) worked fine without any settings, so first check, if the speaker is well connected...

but according to mos team: audio is currently only supported for PowerMac3,4 to 3,6 models. isn't this your case?

    bye, MarK.

Quicksilver 2002 is PowerMac 3,5, so should work.

Another question about the internal speaker.
I bought a Quicksilver 800MHz 3.5 and are using a G15 keyboard, so i have no keys for tuning the volume.
Is there any possibility to adjust the volume of the startsound?
Is there something like a setup menu where i can adjust this at boot?
It's very loud by standard setting, therefore i did disconnect it, but without sound is little bit boring now.

    Thanks for your help :)

AFAIK this can only be done from OSX side.

Boot into OSX (yeah I know that sucks) and turn the volume down there.

Should stay o.k aslong as you don't turn it up again in OSX.

(startupsoundprefs.pane seemed to be non-working on my QS)

    Optimal solution:
Disconnect internal speaker, install SBlive ....
