IIRC the problem was that SmartFirmware initialized just one gfx card. Voodoo drivers initialized the card directly without an x86 emulation. Perhaps I'm mistaken, but I think you had to fit a Radeon AGP to boot from it and a Voodoo3/4/5 PCI that should work because 3dfx drivers didn't make use of BIOS emulation at all.

I tried Voodoo 3 3000 PCI + Ati Radeon 7000 AGP and the Pegasos freeze at Morpĥos Boot Picture on the Voodoo output.

How well I remember you need Voodoo on AGP and Radeon on PCI

AGP Voodoo + PCI Radeon combo should work. It won't work the other way around.
