    Can anyone tell me if they work under morphOS?

    [ Edited by Dreamcast270mhz on 2011/3/19 17:07 ]
    My Macs:
    Powerbook G4 ALU 1.5GHZ 15" 1.5GB OSX.5.8
    Powermac G4 MDD 1.5GHZ OSX.5.8 MOS2.7

    Want a part for a Mac? Let me know, I'll see what I can do.

    Amithlon is amazing, questions and help I can provide.

    There is no native MorphOS driver for any wireless networking cards.

    I don't know if the Amiga 68k driver for Prism2 compatible wireless cards works from MorphOS2.x, but don't know why it wouldn't. I used to have a PCI card with a PCMCIA slot that I could put into my G4 PowerMac to test the wireless card from my A1200, if I can find it.

    I hope it didn't get given away with my Brother's PC computer a couple months ago when he replaced it with a new PC.

    I've got a Orinoco Gold PCMCIA card that I know works on my A1200, I could try it on my PowerBook, if someone was to send me a copy of MorphOS 3, I might get around to testing it.. ;-)

    Okay then, is there a way to share a connection with my powerbook?

    As far as I know those PCI cards are supported under prism2.device

    * 3COM -> 3CRDW696
    * D-Link -> DWL-520 (Hardware revision B2 or earlier)
    * Netgear -> MA301, MA311 (PCI-PCMCA adapter)

    Perhaps they can be hooked into a PowerMac and get MorphOS wireless via the prism2.device

    I can also test with an Amiga compatible PCMCIA card and the 68k prism2.device on my PowerBook if there is a way to get the desired ISO of MorphOS.

    I got MorphOS running with no problems on a wireless PCMCIA card on my 1200PPC and on a USB2LAN adpter under my 4000PPC.

    Is this is just a matter of getting wireless to your Morphos machine?

    The question is - is MorphOS on PowerBook going to support PCMCIA port.

    Very good question! I hadn't thought about that until now. I guess the same question would apply to the Airport slot in the G4 PowerMacs, are they supported now through MorphOS2.7? The Airport slot inside my MDD 1.25GHz PowerMac appeared to be the same as a PCMCIA slot, but I might have been mistaken. I'll have to open it up today and slide out the Airport card to look at it again.

    Not sure what you mean by the above, but "Yes" you can share Internet access with two Mac's when one has an Airport and the other does not if the Mac with the Airport card is running MacOSX and the other Mac is running MorphOS2.x, just as easy as turning on the Internet sharing and plugging an Ethernet cable between the two Macs. I have done this several times and it works great.

    Don't know if that changed since, though.

    Ok great Dave you interpreted it well. I guess I will wait for the airport chipset to hopefully be supported

    Join me in supporting a bounty to get some third party group or person to write the needed PCMCIA drivers for MorphOS2.x to support the slot in the G4 PowerBook and the Airport slot in the G4 PowerMacs.

    Can the moderators here please create a poll to find out how many members would support such a bounty? IIRC, regular members here cannot create polls on this forum (I wish that were true at Amiga.org too, way too many senseless polls there)
