I installed MOS1.4 from scratch and I setup the Catweasel according to THIS guide. The only change is I don't put the mount files in DEVS/DOSDRIVERS, I mount them manually after startup.

Everything seems to work. The drive goes clickety click. However if I put in a PC floppy it does nothing with it. If I put in a Amiga floppy the system locks up.

Suggestions? If i get this figured out I will write a new install guide for MOS1.4.

Ok I got it working. The problem was partially a bad drive and partially a small mistake by me. I'll probably write a MOS1.4 install guide.

How did you figure out it was partially a bad drive?

    What mistake did you make?

I've only succeeded in getting my Catweasel to work partially under
    MOS1.4.

Sometimes it will hang when mounting from the command prompt

I have definite issues on diskchange if I try to mount DF0_DD and
    DF0_HD at the same time....

    Interested in your experience.

When all else failed and I confirmed every other step I tried another drive.

I only have DF0_DD confirmed working, I have not tried DF0_HD. PC floppy support is definately still broken here. Once I do a little more testing I'll report back. But the fact I have Amiga DD disks working again is wonderful:-) Oh and I have it mounting automatically upon startup.

So far I seem to be able to use either PC or Amiga. If I mount more than 2 types or if I put a floppy type in that is not mounted it is not happy.

If I only load what I am going to use(usually just Amiga DF0), it seems fine.

    Hi
Thanks for your posting. I have a CW3 too. I am manually mounting Amiga floppies in 1.4 how do you have it mount auto at startup?

    Hi Red,
thanks for that. Confirming I have *exactly* the same experience regarding mounting two units. It seems happiest when reading Amiga_DD..which is 90% of the purpose I bought it for (that and to support Jens coming to Amiwest) :-)

Do you automount via Devs:DosDrivers/ or from a script in User-StartUp or WBStartup?

    Cheers,

    Steve
