Does anyone use an Android phone and MorphOS? I've been successfully using both together since June and the massstorage integration has been pretty seamless. Just recently, however, I've noticed something strange when I connect the phone to my MacMini: The album art I have assigned to my music disappears!

On the phone I use an app called Album Art Grabber which does exactly that. It uses Android's database to assign album art to my music without embedding them into the ID3 tags. It stores this database on my SDcard in a folder called 'albumthumbs.' Plugging in the phone doesn't disturb this folder, yet somehow the links to the music are severed and I get the blank, generic no album art thumbnail.

A more permanent solution would be to embed the art into the tags, but I haven't found an elegant solution. Here's a link to a snapshot of my massstorage settings. Maybe someone can take a look.

    Thanks,

    TJH

Have you tried 64kb maxtransfer instead of 2MB ? This helps in some cases of strange behaviour (i have a HTC-Legend).....Maybe your mobile has a similar problem..... (Don't forget to reboot or restart USB after changeing MAXTRANSFER).
Do you know the app "Moto Phone Portal"? This gives you a WEB-Interface on your phone which can connected to MorphOS-OWB (via WiFi).........which gives you full (...mostly...) access to your phone...maybe this can also help you......

Is the wireless connection you mentioned above using Bluetooth?

I seached AppBrain for the app you suggest ("Moto Phone Portal") and have come up empty. Any suggestions where to locate it?

I'll give the maxtransfer setting a try soon.

    Thanks,

I will be surprised if you dont find the app itself in one or more of those search result.

WiFi is not Bluetooth! I mean a normal wireless lan (IEEE-802.11).......most android mobiles are able to connect to a wireless lan. As amyren wrote it's easier to find MotoPhone with Google and download it to your PC. Install it to the mobile from PC via USB......

Now if I only had a PC... Seriously, I have two computer systems: MorphOS on a Mac Mini and two Amithlon boxes. I was hoping to find an android .apk of the program or a market link. I try to steer clear of sideloading if at all possible. Thanks for the help anyway.

    You can look here:

    or here:
    http://www.android-hilfe.de/htc-legend-forum/22171-htc-phone-portal.html

This is for HTC but should also work on different other Android-Phones.......

Load down the .apk - file and install it to your phone.......

Hi, just a feed-back that this works fine with HTC Desire, I just installed it and used OWB on MorphOS to sync the phone! Really great.

For install, I mounted the phones drive via USB on MorphOS, copied the downloaded file to it and then installed it on the phone, nor problems at all.

I misunderstood and thought you were writing about a wireless connection directly to your MorphOS computer from you phone, not a wireless connection from the phone to your wireless LAN, which your MorphOS computer is connected to via Ethernet wire. There has been some discussion about certain BlueTooth devices working on PPC Macs with BlueTooth controllers running MorphOS2.6,if the device is first paired just once using the MacOSX pairing tools. After it is paired, it is remembered and shows up while running MorphOS2.6 as a USB device in Posieden's preferences. There have been reports that some Bluetooth mice work and maybe some keyboards too, so maybe the Bluetooth of a cell phone will work the same way.

Yeah! Thats right - my fault.....
But I think there is a possibility to connect via WiFi to a MOS-Computer directly (without a rooter): There should be some USB-WLAN-Sticks working with MOS (read Poseidon.guide) - maybe a point2point configuration is feasible......
