After two days or so of testing, I can defenitly say that there is a problem with the internet connection on my PowerMac version 3.6 (MDD, 1.25Ghz). Internet connects ok, but it is very very slow, considering I have a 10mbit connection and downloading a file rarely goes over 20k/sec. My network device is sungem_eth.device:0

Obviously, this is a very frustrating problem.

With OSX, from the same locations, downloading is lightning fast and I have no problem in maxing out my 10mbit connection.

    Any ideas?

This is a known problem with the sungem ethernet driver. It occured with previous versions of MorphOS and still occurs with 2.6. I have the same problem on my Mac Mini -.-
Thus I use my Pegasos or OS X on the Mini for network related stuff (80% of my computer usage...).

I might add that it only happens for some people, it's definitely no general problem but related to the network setup somehow. We didn't figure out what the actual problem really is yet, though. Maybe it's caused by the 10Mbit line ? Most switches operate in 100/1000Mbit mode nowadays. Do you connect directly to some DSL modem which operates at 10Mbit ?

Heh and with my luck, it happened to me...

Anyway I tried with 2 routers, and had the same problem with BOTH:

    Linksys WRT54G
    ASUS WL-520GU

Should it be ok with these two?

    Thanks

BTW my router is connected to a Cable Modem (my ISPs) - dunno if that helps

Pega: on my 8Mbit line I'm getting about 300kb/s when usually I'm getting about 850 kb/s. Im connected via access point but under osx this is working like a charm. But still, 300kb/s is much better than Nostromo has.. Is there anything I can do (logs or any other stuff) I can supply to help you figure out the problem?

I don't know if and how I could help you, but here, my MDD is fast on internet. Youtube is very smooth.
On my lan, MDD is faster than my Peg.

here FW800 dual G4@1420 is OK about ethernet driver : up 10240 Kb/s in LAN sharing SMB ,better then Pegasos2 G4.
I have also tried to add a second NIC ethernet (RTL8139D) and also It's OK.

While the ethernet of my old PowerMac AGP Graphic is not supported at the moment (problem solved at the moment with a simple PCI RTL8139D)

    regards

The same for me on macmini with 2.5 (still) on the release data of 2.5 and 2.6 said "Fixed some speed issues for Mac Mini" (about the sungem.device) but at least for me dont work fine.

Well, I just bought Realtek 8139C and was expecting much better speed than I'm getting via sungem builtin ethernet but.. it's still the same :(

I'm connecting to ZTE MF612 router and getting only 50-60kb/s when on the same connection on my pc im getting up to 600 kb/s. Currently downloading MorphOS iso to see is problem gonna be the same on clean system.

    Any suggestions?
