    That comparison is flawed, since you're comparing a not yet available machine (where the cpu is still unknown) against a particular model of mac supported by MorphOS (and not the best one). You could indeed have picked Mac mini, or even PowerBook G4 or PowerMac G4 instead of eMac then, since availability isn't an element that matters in your comparison (and their performance is roughly the same or sometimes better, and without CRT). Also, you can put more than 512MB in an eMac (at least 1GB, maybe even 2).

    Regarding your questions, they obviously can't be answered. The machine specifications alone (which we haven't) aren't enough. The quality and optimization of the OS matters a lot too, obviously. Also, we don't have a crystal ball telling us how much Timberwolf will be completed by then, how buggy/stable OS4 will be on X1000 and so on... But if you want answers based on what we can verify now, we can throw blunt facts like Quake3 running at 100 fps on eMac against 4 fps on x1000. How fair do you think it is? :)
