Is there any possibility of installing 2.4 on an ibook or powerbook g4, the ibook has a chipset supported by morphos, so I'd think so...? Please excuse my noobish questions, I own an a1220 but morphos looked appealingf for eitehr of my laptops, I'm dling it right now to see if i have any luck to boot it?
    My Macs:
    Powerbook G4 ALU 1.5GHZ 15" 1.5GB OSX.5.8
    Powermac G4 MDD 1.5GHZ OSX.5.8 MOS2.7

Want a part for a Mac? Let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Amithlon is amazing, questions and help I can provide.

    No.

MorphOS 2.4 checks for presence of Mac mini G4 hardware and refuses to boot on any other Mac hardware.

yeah, I'm a relatively new amiga user, got mine in july and I have used it quite a few times, bought a VGA adapter for it and 3.1 sometime soon in the future. I'd like a peg 2 but several hundred EURO isn't my idea of a deal

Powerbook G4 support would be nice, even if it meant that the internal keyboard and touchpad wouldn't work. I have my Powerbook hooked up to an external screen so I'm using it with a proper keyboard and mouse most of the time anyway. MorphOS looks like a really interesting system to play around with but having to buy a (fairly) expensive old computer to use it is a bit of an obstacle.

The next release comes with support for PowerMac G4. These are fairly easy to pick up for little money. Maybe an option to play around with.

Some efforts at 'hacking' the Mini-version onto a g4 powerMac here:- http://www.osnews.com/comments/22337

They couldn't get it to work, I'd love a copy for a Mac laptop myself, but looks like we'll have to wait :(

Hey man, lets keep the offensive comments to a minimum. As retarded is a term that has become commonplace in some countries, I really don't want a flame war.

Try adding MacRisc2 and MacRisc3 to MorphOSBoot/mac_ppc32/macofboot basically having it say that g3 and g5 not just g4 is compatible. I suspect there are more checks though.

Im not entirely sure it will work at all, given that i?ve had 5 minutes experience, but remember to make it executable anyway.

There are, of course. Else it would run on other G4 than Mac mini now.

It won't, of course. Else it would run on other G4 than Mac mini now.

This is a very interesting thread. If there was MorphOS available for Powerbook g4 i'd buy another keyfile right now! I have a Powerbook g4 15' 1.25 ghz ready for it..
