I do notice when first starting my G4 MacMini with MorphOS that the display (1680x1050) is fuzzy, or has wavering vertical lines or text, but after it warms up, this condition seems to go away.

Is your monitor connected via VGA or DVI? For VGA it may be just monotor adjusts display to the signal. When monitor adjusts PLL clock recovery circuit, visual effect looks like vertical vaves of blurrines moving horizontally. This phenomenon does not happen with DVI connection.
