Anyone know if dual cpu upgrades from "GiGa Designs" will be supported ?

It's too early to say anything definite at this point, but most likely if it does not work ootb, it's not going to work - you cannot expect us to try to get every possible addon there is out there.

Words, yes, but nothing definite (you've also made that point).

And the Wiki listing just makes me wonder why the MDD weighs that much when its immediate predecessor (the Powermac I have) weighs about ten pounds less.

So, yes, my Powermac (which isn't the one that's about to be supported - or at least not as quickly as the MDD) does not weigh 44 pounds.

Definitely at plus for the Quicksilver Powermac (that and greater compatibility with most third party CPU upgrades). There is at least one MDD CPU upgrade I know of, but if G5s are supported why would you spend that much money on upgrading a G4?

I heard from Essen visitors that MorphOS for PowerMac G4 will support all AGP based PowerMac G4 models at once (which actually is every PowerMac G4 except the very first one).

Yes, that would be excellent. Some of the Powermac made before my Quicksilver offer features that make them attractive. Availability is an obvious one, but four memory slots (over the Quicksilver's three) gives earlier models a 2gig memory capability overe the Quicksilver's 1.5gigs.

And maybe we can stop the bickering about Powermacs weighing too much, as the models prior to the MDD weighed quite a bit less.

That's kind of funny. I didn't notice that before :-) On the other hand: MorphOS can only see 1.5 GiB RAM anyway, so this shouldn't make a difference in a MorphOS context.

extra RAM makes OS x better of course :)
    My Macs:
    Powerbook G4 ALU 1.5GHZ 15" 1.5GB OSX.5.8
    Powermac G4 MDD 1.5GHZ OSX.5.8 MOS2.7

Want a part for a Mac? Let me know, I'll see what I can do.

Amithlon is amazing, questions and help I can provide.
