    my peg 2 is dead.
at least it looks like its pretty much dead.
no picture, hdd/dvd arent spinning except if i detach the ide cables. w/o ide cables the dvd/hdd do spin.
but the most frightening thing is: no output on serial. 0. nada. null:

Termite log (2.3.4099) started at Sun Nov 1 01:41:06 2009

is there a way to check if really the cpu died (besides to get another peg and put its cpu card into my peg or vica-versa)?
i really dont know what will i do if me peg really died.
its a disaster for me really.
i just simply cant believe it, but it seems to be true.
and all happened right after i got home from the most succesful and best amicon up to date:((

You should try the usual things:
    - disconnect everything including pci/agp cards
    - remove the power plug
    - power on with no power plug attached
    - power on with your memory modules removed
    - and so on...

If it really died, you should contact bplan. They can probably fix it (at cost)...

henes: i did everything. diassembled the whole machine, but even w/o cpu card theres nothing at serial output. so it might be that the mainboard itself is dead.

" power on with no power plug attached" - i dont understand what you mean by this. how can you power on something w/o power plug attached?

anyway im waiting for another cpu card to test the machine. maybe on next week some hungarian fellow morpher will help me out...

jambalah: thx a lot man! i remember your long and painful story with your peg and bplan. i really hoped that i wont have to follow your steps - evere i was wrong.

(and strangely a hungarian peg2 owner who moved to new-zealand recently got a very similar issue: his peg dont boot and hdd dont spin up, unless he remvoe the cpu card and clean it with contact-spray, then maybe it starts booting - to crash during the boot process.)

When you power off a little amount of electricity remains.
You can verify putting psu switch to "off" position and trying to power on again. Sometimes power led blinks, due to this.
That electricity could be very dangerous...
I guess Henes meant to say this. A ricurrent maneuver to unload that electricity.

That's indeed what I meant. Powering on with no power plug attached will empty the motherboard capacitors.
Beside making it safe to touch the motherboard, it also resurrected my Peg2 once...

its offical: the peg is dead. not the cpu module, its working in another peg2, but the motherboard itself. no serial output at all. im totally broken.

Contact bplan; I'm sure they can repair it. It will cost a little, but it's not like they are EyeTech and let their customers suffer with zero service after warranty has run out.
