And why don't you provide the URL, or at least a name so one could at least google for it?

    And ethernet ?

    oulala ! realy nice news!

So when MOS 2.0 will be here, I'll buy 1 for my PEG II, 1 for my

Indeed... Notice the complete absence of Genesi's SmartFirmware? The fact that graphics in this computer are Radeon based made things easier, I guess... Don't know about sound, but as for network, well, ethernet chips are very similar and well known.

Have in mind that this is actually the most powerful MorphOS computer: It has a 7447 (G4) like the Pegasos II, but at hicher speed.

What's Genesi's opinion on this? I've seen the starting post being moderated... Can this be something bad for them?

And, most of all... are PowerPC MacMinis still available? My company (PC City) ran out of them three months ago.

Is MOS2 on Mac hardware official development though, or its just a hack?

I got a G4 iBook - would be great to install MOS2 on it.

AFAIK this is something that Genesi has wanted for a very long time (many years). I'm sure the quotes are out there... ;-)

    How could it?

As far as I can see, this can *only* be a good thing.

:) I guess you shouldn't hold your breath.. as usual this has just been posted in reponse to the recent Moana video... Nothing to do with you simple users ;)

"The port is real and 'official'.

However, it is unlikely that any mac version would make it to the first MOS 2.0 batch: Pegasos I, Pegasos II and Efika come first.

This Mac port is not ready either, so hold your horses. Don't go out spend your last savings on Mac Mini assuming you can grab MorphOS for it tomorrow. These things take time. Any potential release can only happen once the port is finished."

Fantastic news assuming that it will be ever released. I don't expect that it will be released along with Peg and Efika but it's great that it works.

Let's hope that it won't share the fate of Mos 1.5 on A4000. The only tangible thing that left from it is a video available on youtube...

Anyway, that's a very good piece of news. Mos boots really quickly on Mac Mini.

interesting, but i'd like to see MorphOS running on modern hardware instead of refurbished computers.

    Very nice news!
I've sold my Peg more than a year ago but now I'm like a toxic without his drug. I'm using Uae on an old pc but it's not like "teh rehal thinghz".
So, I'm looking forward to buy a copy of Mos2.0 on whathever machine it will run.
    Amen.

    @SoundSquare

A PS3 port could be interesting even if it's not a computer. A 3Ghz class PPC with vector units... yum yum! I wouldn't care about it not having 3D acceleration active.

Very interesting... I hope something comes of this.

Of course it'd be so much better if Apple were still with PPC but as long as PPC Macs are so readily available this is still a good move for MorphOS.

Just out of curiousily, do G5 Macs also have OpenFirmware? What about the Intel Macs? (btw I know that having OpenFirmware does not mean that hacked version of MOS can run on them).
PPC assembly ain't so bad... ;)

Unfortunately no one is really making PPC systems anymore. Apple was the biggest player in ppc & now they've gone over to x86.

Genesi is too small & not as popular to make much of a difference in the ppc market. I'm looking forward to see what impact THTF will have with their LimePC products by entering the ppc market. Maybe they can revive this hardware platform once again.

Getting support for Mac Minis would be a welcome plus. Since they'd be the most powerful systems out there to run MorphOS on - compared to what people are using today.
