I use mine for the web and to play old PC-games in DOSBOX in Linux.

But that will change when MorphOS 2.0 is here!

Yup. Waiting for MorphOS 2. And trying to sell the other 17 ;)

I've got the e17ka Gentoo install to the point of the command line. It's a nice step up from SmartFirmware but still not that much fun.
PPC assembly ain't so bad... ;)

So how do they run with just the dedicated RAM? Its the only thing keeping me from getting one.

I could see me using it as a web server if I got one now.

    My first Efika serves as
    teleinfo.pb.edu.pl machine
    (systeminfo here). The
second one is used for MorphOS development.

Unfortunately not a lot. Kubuntu combination too slow to be useful IMHO. :-( However my Efika got me interested in Ubuntu (type) linux which I have now installed on one of my PC laptop.

Waiting for MorphOS 2.0 for the Efika.

Did you use the Gutsy install and boot? I did so and only picked XUbunto / XFCE and its almost as fast as my Debian install (But I have FULL AUDIO with XUbuntu). I waded through so many patches and crap and never got a beep outa the Debian install, Although everything else works fine.. I really wish they would update the Efika.info site with a Debian kernel with sound already setup!!!

Im setting mine up for car audio, and awaiting MorphOS aswell!

I build a digital picture frame out of my Efika, well it is a bit more than a digital picture frame...

    Hey BBRV,
congrats to your "MyView" - looks great.
I guess with the Efika2 I'll do another further advanced frame - well, not just frame but media server.
    There will be a market!

Since I now have a Static IP at home, and MOS isn't out yet. I re-installed Linux to take up the whole harddrive and using it as a webserver.

Hopefully the next Efika system will be out before MOS gets released.

A better question might be: What am I trying to do with my EFIKA? I'm *trying* to set up two Open Client Basics w/ CF cards as thin clients on our network.

If I boot them with an ethernet cable attached, I get to the bplan logo and that's it. Same if I boot with an external USB DVD/CD-RW drive. I could take out the CF cards, put them in a PC and put the OS on that way, but I'd rather do it on the EFIKA itself.

    Ideas?
