The same problem I have also (see another topic). Only the fans are working for me too. But I think as they say also that it's the PSU. Try another one, good this time, for the third time.

But it's better when you have such kind of boot problems I think it's neccesary to describe your machine. What memory modules you have, what GFX card, HD Drive etc. :-)

It's a peg1, thus obviously not a cpu fan (has there ever been another
    G4 Peg1 out there than Gunne's?)

Just do the usual: deattach all components (leave only only mobo and
CPU for start) and try to obtain a serial debug.

I have tried that with no output on serial line. But thanks for all the help guys! I think either the CPU or mother board is dead:-(.

Is there any Peg1 guys out there(in the U.S.A.) I could mail my cpu board to so they can test it? I will gladly pay for your time or give something in return?

I will give anyone a "FREE" working!
18gig IBM USCSI @Server drive or
9.1gig IBM DCHS drive or BOTH plus money for you time that would help!

    Thanks,
    ZXoney

    Hi ZXoney:

I might be able to help you out, I have a G3 board. I don't whether it came from a Peg 1 or Peg 2. If you can help me find out if it would work in your box, I will ship it to you...

At the Front top right side of my CPU Board it reads:

    Pegasos CPU
    Single 750 CX
    Rev.: 1.0
    (c) 2001,2002 bplan GmbH

If yours is also a 750 CX I would guess it would work? I can email you a High Res Pic of my board if you PM me your e-mail...

    Thanks a Million!

But don't mix up Peg1 and Peg2 g3 CPU cards. They have a different multiplicator.
The bus clock ofthe Peg2 is 133 MHz, teh Peg1 Bus clock is 100 Mhz, the mutiplier is accordingly higher ona Peg1 cpu module. thus a peg1 cpu module runs at roughly 800 MHz and will most likely burn. A Peg2 cpu module used in a Peg 1 will run at ~450 MHz, but should work.

    Hi ZXoney:

I will dig it out of storage when I get home and we can see the compatibility.

    Take care,

    Hi TMHG,

Sorry to hear about any dead computers. My A1 is no different. I 'think' mine is a gfx card problem; a lot
of 90 degrees days may have stressed something.

    Hi ZXoney:

Did you receive the board yet? My office shipped it to you via the US postal service over 2 weeks ago.

    Take care,

Yes I did, sorry I've been real busy. Its the motherboard, I tried every combination of ram, PSU's, Video Cards, with and without battary, but I get nothing. I've got my Efika setup now with XUbuntu(GNOME / KDE) with XFCE desktop and now awaiting MorphOS v2.0.. When I get the time I am gonna check all the onboard voltage regulators and basic stuff like caps, diodes, etc.. Do you need me to send the CPU back? If so just let me know. And again thanks for all you help!

    Hi ZX:

Sorry to hear that the MB is dead.

Keep the CPU and give it to another user who needs it!

    Glad to help out.

    Kind regards,

    Matt
