    Wow! That's cool!

Hope to see MOS 2.0 for it soon.

Just seen that the next Efika will probably powered by a MPC 512x. Nice one! Integrated gfx at least!

    @Zylesea

The MPC5121e seems to be a killer! :-)

One must suppose that Freescale will supply full GFX driver sources and documentation and everything needed in order to utilize this chip to its fullest potential?
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

mmm.... the gfx part is only up to 1024x768, nice for embedded systems, but not much.
I still prefer to have a XGI chip on board.

You will (read the PR), but that is still some time away and we have some market development to do with the EFIKA we have now. We are hoping this will be a solid foundation we can build on. We will have some more good news for the future in the next few weeks.

Lucky for us, there is genesi keeping their promises, unlike the dark side of amiga inc 8-)

    Question for BBRV:

can efika+mos use flash mem instead of hd, so the whole system would be totally silent?

I have adsl connection to internet via usb cable. Can this connection be used in mos? (connexant drivers)

sure, you can use a CompactFlash IDE adapter or even a flash 2,5" solid state disk (SDD).

I have a feeling MorphOS would have to be really crippled when using this gfx chip. I'd prefer an ATI core on the board.

No, there are no connexant drivers. Afair the linux drivers for that usb junk are all closed source (x86 only), so better start looking for an adsl router.

What is adsl router? And how much does it cost?

What is other way i could connect efika and adsl? If amiga-like-systems shop appear in serbia (as announced), i will buy that $99 efika but i should first ask my ISP about other way of adsl connection. And i am just plain user, i don't know much about h/w stuff.

Just type "adsl router" in google. It's usually a small router box with a built-in adsl modem, 4 ethernet ports (you'd use one to connect the efika) and some with wireless.

Genesi: Efika looks good, the price is now in right ballpark, Linux and Morphos are (apparenltly) becoming real good now.

I agree! It has its limitations for sure, but the main strength is its price! :-)

BTW - always nice to see you post here on Morphzone.org! :-) Keep coming back! :-)

Well, Efika have 2 USB ports, one for keyboard and second for mouse. But what If I want to connect and usb printer or stick???

From pictures I can't see PS2 type of keyboard/mouse conector.

      Thanks for answers.

You can use mouse+keyboard compo, that will use only one USB connector. Additionally, you can (and probably should with 2 connectors and no PS2) buy a external or internal (3.5" bay) USB HUB. That will theoretically allow you to connect as many devices as you need. You can get hubs with any number of ports, and I think you can even chain them. I guess you can buy the cheapest ones with 4 ports (from one port) for around $10.

A USB hub will make it much easier to deal with multiple devices - some people recommend powered hubs for the Efika too. I tried a neat looking little USB cable that split out into PS/2 keyboard and mouse connectors but it seems that it only plays nice with windows - it comes up as a HID (human interface device). Actually, making that thing work on Efika could be a not-too-vast a programming challenge for me...
PPC assembly ain't so bad... ;)
