I have found couple of working 256M DIMMs for Pegasos1 (April2), but they seem to work alone only, not in pairs in any configuration. I'd like to have more memory and I've tested couple of used 512M DIMMs... without luck.

I decided to buy expensive Kingston memory, which was reported as "fully working memory" here at tutorials section.

    It was this:
    Kingston
    512 MB
    KVR 133X72RC3/512
512 MB PC 133 Reg. ECC DIMM CL3

It arrived today, but for my great disappointment it doesn't work :( HD led keeps on and OF prompt won't appear. I tried it on both slots, no effect. And together with one working 256M module... for a surprise, OF prompt appears, but neither MOS or Linux will load.

I've bought the memory as a new one. It came on plastic case with user's guide and Kingston's seal, but there were single scratches on contacting surfaces, like it would have used once somewhere. Suspicious or do they test mems at factory?

So now I'm a bit clueless... is the module broken or isn't it compatible afterall? Could Kingston have changed the chips to different brand which would make it not compatible? Should I look the actual chips instead of the reported model (which seems to be pretty hard as PC133 mem can be found only by ordering)? Why wasn't it reported on this one on compatibility list?-)

Seems that this memory has Samsung K4S560432H-UC75 chips.

For a curiosity, at least these 256M DIMMs seem to work (alone):

    TwinMOS PC133 256MB SD/CL3
    (Samsung K4S2808320-TC75)

Hyundai PC133U-333-542 HYM71V32635 AT8-H AA 256MB Sync 133MHz CL3. Also has IBM logo on other sticker.
    (Hyundai HY57V28820AT-H)
I have two of these, but still won't work together.

BTW. it's said that regged mem would be good for Peg1. Anyone knows if that affects to stability or anything in practise?

    Hi,
my pegasos 1 April 1 got 2 working Samsung 512mb PC133 ECC Buffered. It works well with MOS 1.4.5.

For Linux, you need to use the "Boot loader" option to reduce the ram to 254 Mb to install !!!
    Keep the Faith !

Maybe one day a G4 AmigaONE when they will be debugged and without April...

Seems like it is exactly the chipset problem with that Kingston module. I got for testing another KVR 133X72RC3/512 module, but this time with Infineon HYB39S256400CT-7.5 chips and it works like a charm! I was given up already for working 512 module, but now the quest continues... too bad this working module doesn't seem to be boughtable.

Would it be "replaceable with the module that doesn't work for you without telling the owner"? :-)

    Hi there!

I'm using this module now at my good old maddened workhorse (peg1 :D)

    Manufacturer: Kingston
    Type: KTM3058/1024A

It is an 133 Mhz Registered ECC CL3 module. I've searched for kingston.com for exact specs, but i've found nothing more.

    Hope this helps!
