    IS there allready a browser that works on the Pegasos and that supports enough javascript to work with the new writely from Google. You can save your documents in the format you wants. So text-editing won't be a problem anymore. (see www.writely.com)

    I'd rather use ced for desk top publishing than some javascript app for text editing. But if it could be used to convert between formats, it might be useful.

    Am writing my emails with webmail these days, it is quite horrible I must say, for sure this will never be a permanent solution for me. Can't imagine the horrors of writing even longer documents this way.

    For real DTP I'am using Pagestream 4.1. It's a great program for this, but it's export facilities are limited: It's own format and PDF. Sometimes it's usefull to export as Word-format. Sometimes it's also usefull to read Word-documents as they are and not only the text parts. (in Pagestream and also with Next I can read the text-parts, but it is not possible to read it as it is meant)
    Even Amigawriter can't read the newest word-format and for me it's a real handicap because a lot of the documents of my colleges are in Word-format.
    And, well, at home I don't have a Windows-computer......
    So something that can show me the original document would be very handy!

    regards Tom

    @tom:

    I don't understand what do you mean. Writely doesn't work on MorphOS (maybe with Sputnik one day... but Sputnik is not able to handle this page ATM). In the other side, on Linux there are already better solutions than a server-side word processor: OpenOffice.org for example. It's only adventage is that it's independent from your location. You can use it from anywhere (except from MOS sadly...).

    there are several online viewers for .doc or exel files available.

    For .doc use http://view.samurajdata.se/ for example. But there are also others (maybe better ones), just check your favaourite search engine...

    Quite handy and a good alternative to antiword.
    There are also online converters available IIRC.
