    Hi Guys,
im still looking for a non soldering solution
to boot the machine on poweron.

On my a4k i could use a teleswitch without problems, to remotely reboot the machine.
With an AT Powersupply there is no problem with this,
with ATX this wont work as the machine stays off when u cut the powersupply for a moment.

Any ideas? Dont wont to fiddle arround with the poweron line.

I don't understand your question. If you use setenv to set the auto_boot variables, you can make the machine boot your boot.img when you power it on. You shouldn't need to modifty any hardware at all.

Just re-read your post. You want the machine to power on when it receives power, rather than having to press the power button, right? Can't you just short the power button so it's always "pushed"?

ATX-powered systems shut down when you hold down the power button for 5s. Don't know how they react, when you hold it down from startup...

    Hello dIGIMAN.

    Not any ideas,

but for me peg2, i have a circuit with MCU and optocoupler developed. ;)

Go 5Vstandby on, then switch on for 0,5 second the power button.

Go 5V or 3,3V on, then switch on for 0,5 second the reset button. (slow hdd problem also detached).

and any more. And its work already many months at me peg2.

I can give schematic and program for free, but a programing adapter for the MCU is necessary.

Or you wait any time until version2 (without MCU) is completed and tested.

    hi,

the simplest solution is to short two pins of your atx-supply to make it powerup immediately.

( this makes your atx behave like an at-supply.I use an atx supply for experiments this way..)

The problem is, that you loose the ability to soft-poweroff.
But I guess, you have some external supply cut off, this shouldn't be a problem.
    bye

sorry, but this will not work. You need the atx to contact the motherboard. Your adapter uses the atx up and gives an at-connector, which peg doesn't have.

It will only power off if you release and then hold the power button in again. Try it - turn your PegII off at the wall, hold in the ATX power button, and turn it back on at the wall. It will immediately boot, but won't turn off again.

Ok, looks like there is no "easy" way.
The best ofcourse would be a option in the smartfirmware,
like u find on the most pcs today.

Anyway, maybe someday we will see this feature in software, i hope :)

The easy option is to short the power button.

    Hi,
I suggest to test your "short powerbutton" theory, because it doesn't work. The Peg turns on and switches off after 5sec.

Like I wrote above, the way is to short Pin 14 (green) with GND on the ATX-connector.
