http://www.ppcnux.de/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=6531 has listed current prices for ibm's 970 processors. They are surprisingly cheap. Where's the OSW now?

    The 970FX 1 GHz starts @ 86.70 US$, the 970MP 1.2 GHz starts @ 187.20 US$.
    the low energy 970MP 2.5 GHz is 385.39 US$.

Sounds intresting, not to expensive. So where is the OSW?

But even more where is a "Peg 2" on steriods (sp?) or a pegasos 2.5 G5 with better Memory speeds and so one. A single G5 unit might be easier to port MorphOS to which would be nice ;)

It is ready as soon as you order the first 2500 OSW ;-)

The second option is you choose the CPU you want in the OSW and lend the money for 5000 pieces to Genesi/Bplan:
For example if you pick up an IBM 970MP 2 Ghz low power 5000 pieces cost is $1.5 Million ...

If I had that money I would not hesitate :) or mayby I would...

but confess that it would be fun to be able to run a cheap G5 machine with MorphOS

i suppose, these prices will rise up, because the main customer, apple, stopped to buy/use them... :-(

Or maybe they have a load of xxx.xxx chips they have no other way to get rid of now that Apple switched to x86 earlier than planned. ;-)

    The other way round:
They lowered the prices, because Apple left PowerPC.
