I received my ATI-branded Radeon 9000pro 128M today and the DVI does look much better. Guess the Sapphire didn't do so well in this area.
Now I just got to get a quieter fan. :)

I'm using a Sapphire Tech Radeon 9000 AGP and DVI is working for me also (without modification to MOS) although I have to admit I am using the standard VGA output instead-- the reason being that the DVI doesn't look quite right. It almost has a look that seems to be "too digital". I don't recall exactly if MOS showed signs of this, but I definitely recall it manifesting itself in OS X (through MOL) as well as Gentoo Live and Ubuntu. The best way to describe it is a pixelated appearance in graphics/gradients. Almost as if you swtiched from 32bit color to 16bit color.
I am looking to get a hold of a true ATI branded Radeon 9000 to see if it just my card doing it.
