    As MorphOS has no support for SMP, I can't see why dual-core CPU's are anything t get excited about.

    YES! You've found what is holding MorphOS 1.5 release! It will have both symmetric multiprocessing and distributed network processing!

    It is on radar since it's first announcement already. For PegII is doesn't make sense due to being a SoC solution which renders the need for a seperate northbridge void. The current PegII would brake the 8641(D) performance, but still the PegII will see a performance bost with the 7448.

    You can get the same package as a single core chip, too.
    In this case it does not even have to share the narrow internal FSB. :-)

    @ Crumb

    The 8641 will be available in a single-core version as well AFAIK.

    Maybe a "power Efika"? ;-)
    MorphOS is Amiga done right! :-)
    MorphOS NG will be AROS done right! :-)

    @Crumb:

    Still, it is a legacy bus that can only use half the
    combined bandwidth of the two memory controllers.
