Why do you want to get rid of it? I'm sure it will sell fast if you offer it for a good price.

I don't know why you want to sell your Pegasos 2. Only if you want to buy AmigaOne with AmigaOS 4.0 I pressume.

I waited for 10 years now, for Amiga to bring up a new model since A1200 AGA, and I am very happy with my Pegasos 2. ;-)

Selling a Peg2/MOS for an A1/os4 is like selling a Ferrari to get a Honda accura..

Sure. Anyway, i'm happy with MiamiDx, it perfectly does what i need. :)

Sure. BTW, the Voodoo drivers are also a _LOT_ better in 1.5, i can tell you.

Sure. That's one of features i'm waiting for at most. I like to play with nice SIMD instructions. :)

No "real" AGP on Pegasos II, that's a chipset limitation. On Linux, it also works in PCIGart mode. But funnily enough, the bandwidth it provides is still faster than on "some other" PPC mainboard, claiming to have "real" AGP.

Linux already has quite good Altivec support, i don't know what do you want to say with this... And it will be only better as time goes.

    - Slow 3D

Linux's 3D is slow on everything. Even with native binary drivers on x86. Well, i still agree that the case is lot worse on PPC.

    - Monsterly slow Debian

I'm running Debian Sarge at my office on a dual Pentium III/1Ghz, with 1GB RAM, and i'm sometimes crying, because the speed is so bad, compared to the same Debian running on my Pegasos II. Esp. I/O speed (eg. HDD) speed suffers, but sometimes the whole system is sluggish. So imo, while Linux is sluggish on everything, Pegasos II still runs it quite nicely. Gentoo is a lot faster on PPC, because on PPC compiler optimizations really counts, it's still slow compared to MOS, anyway. :)

    Sigh.

He can have whatever reasons to sell his Peg. Maybe he needs money, maybe he no longer needs it, maybe he no longer doesnt have time for it, maybe he is just bored. It shouldnt be end of the world if someone is selling his Pegasos.

I agree. Especially, if he's able to sell the machine, someone actually buys it, and continues to use it. It would be worse if he keeps it, but puts it into the attic to only collect dust. IMO.
