I've listed my April2 Peggy here and it has memory included with it.

Heh, heh -- I just came across that on eBay and put it on my "watch list". :-)

Now, I've got to decide how serious I am!

Are there any limitations with the "fixed" Pegasos 1's? (with MorphOS, that is -- NOT Linux)

All I really know is that it has gotten better and better with every new MorphOS release. As long as the Peg1 is supported by the MOS team, it'll keep getting better. Think that there was an issue with TV cards on the Peg1??

Yes but apparently few and far between, the users of the April 1 machines were offered a free upgrade but many didn't take advantage of it because they didn't have serious problems.

A non-April Peg is interesting as a collectors item but isn't viable for serious work, they corrupt data and crash - a lot. The A1s had the same problems but have software patches to get around them, MorphOS never had these patches and never will.

That was the case with mine. Most every problem was addressed by the later MOS releases and the system seemed to be lots more stable than my 'real' amiga running 3.9.

My Peg1 with April works great with Morphos
and Linux. I have had no problems.
I also run Basilisk (MAC) and Bochs (PC)
We have a Peg2 and for most tasks even
the speed difference is very small.
The Peg1 is great as long as support
    continues.

Ethernet trash will happen still but TCP handles those and fixes errors automatically. It can slowdown Internet access to few kilobytes per second, that is all. Some lockups may occur but it is not too bad. The network traffic wont corrupt.

Well: network traffic itself won't get trashed but read/right from disk has a high chance to get trashed. So the result is the same: when using SMB, either the files are trashed when read from disk, either when written to it...

Unfixed Peg1 is still brilliant machine (IMO). But Redrumloa should give it away for free I think :)

HAH! I didn't get it for free, I paid for it. I'm no programmer and despite what some corporate trolls think, I don't work for Genesi;-) I bought it from someone who needed the money, I'll likely make a loss selling it. No biggie, just making a point :-P

Well -- looks like someone bought yours with "buy-it-now".

Guess that just leaves Red's "unfixed" board now.

Heh, heh -- the board I'm "thinking" about -- but I'm not a big fan of Genesi -- so no shirt! ;-)

Take a look at the PEg II being offered here for sale now. This could be your big chance!

    @Red

Still watching this (4 more days). ;-)

You don't mention MorphOS -- does it come with the board?

Anyone know if a second-hand Pegasos 1 qualifies to "sign-up" for updates?

No MorphOS is included, but you *should* be able to download it free of charge.

Maybe someone can clarify, but I don't see the problem.

Wow! This went for much more than I thought it would (almost as much as an April 2 version did last week!).

I guess it just goes to show that there is still demand for the old "unfixed" boards.

Red -- hopefully you didn't end up losing too much on the board after all. :-)
