    Linux 2.6.11 (vanilla) will include support for both the Pegasos and the Marvell gigabit ethernet. The ethernet driver will be based on the one that isn't compatible with Smart Firmware <1.2, so I highly recommend everyone that are using Linux to upgrade the firmware before the release.

    >I guess CL3 Dimms should be avoided

    I am not so sure about your conclusion without hearing from bplan about the real reason.
    I tried 2x 512MB MDT512-400-16 CL2.5 DIMMs the other day and it was a cathastrophe while it works just fine with a single one.
    Those work error-free in a dual-channel nForce2 board, btw.

    @tarbos,

    Your right I may be wrong, but having built Highend Pc's for the
    last 12 Years, I have found that in a system that demands 2-2-2
    timings like I believe the peg does. You will not always be
    successful with slower ram. I have a dual channel nforce250 (abit)
    board under my desk right now. I run dual PQI cl.2 matched sticks.

    The nforce chipset can adjust to slower ram if needed. Possibly
    the peg at its current configuration will not adjust.

    Edit: by the way I updated my PegII with no problems I run 1 256meg
    Dimm cl.2 pc3200
