I saw this at Amiga.org. This set up would make a good iPeg.

I believe the case is huge for an easy to carry device. Compare to the Apple it looks a little old and old fashion.
    sorry :-(

It's nice. I like the idea of the LCD instead of a CRT, but the case looks a bit 'clunky'. Wonder if there are other similar designs out there? :-D

It looks just like the horrible Compaq 486's from mid-90's.
Not many ways to expand it..

For those people who are mentioning about how ugly that case design is, could you please post a link or pictures of a similar case design that does not look ugly? ;-)

By the way, when I first saw the title of this thread, I was thinking iPod and assumed the conversation was about making a handheld PPC platform for playing media. Now that's a cool idea.. however, every company now seems to be producing their own mp3 player.. so anyone new entering this market would have to have some kind of innovative idea & design to make it.

Well, I haven't seen an LCD PC case yet which literally blew me away. But there are some LCD PC cases which look decent enough to not be considered ugly which is definetely enough for most people. Not everyone is a design fetishist afterall.

    Example 1
    Example 2
    Example 3
    Example 4 and
    Example 5

Take a look. Those are not cases for microATX boards but for slightly smaller miniITX ones. However, they do show what LCD PC cases can look like.

I think the time and expense that would be spent designing,
developing, and constructing a miniITX board would be better spent
    designing a notebook motherboard.

I don't mean to knock any kind of "iPeg." I think it is a good idea,
but I think a notebook computer should have a higher priority.

    How about something like this
    index-slim.jpg

A mini or miditower with the TFTscreen mounted on the side and maybe a carrying handle. And somewhere to put cables and keyboard while carrying.

I want four 5,25"-bays because I use this:
    38395.jpg
Removable HDs are the easiest solution to backup and multiboot.

Industrial, laptop, pda and pocketvideoplayer all from the same motherboard! ;-)
